Wednesday's NBA Picks

April 13, 2005

Home Team in CAPS

Anthony's Picks

Last Night: (0-1-1), Week: (2-3-1)

  • CHARLOTTE -4 over Atlanta
  • New Jersey +3 over INDIANA
  • Boston -1 over MILWAUKEE
  • Golden State +4.5 over MINNESOTA--Lock of the Year
  • HOUSTON -3.5 over Memphis

I feel great about these picks tonight, which probably means I'm gonna go 0-5. Charlotte obviously doesn't get to win many games but when Atlanta comes to town, you gotta think they'll be amped up. With Al Harrington out, this Hawks team is pretty dismal on 'O.' Expect a Bobcat whooping 104-91. Jersey's fighting for their playoff lives and I'd take them almost every game down the stretch. They'll win tonight 96-94. Boston played their hearts out last night in Philly to wrap up the Atlantic. If you think they're going to let up tonight, you're crazy. Doc will have the boys playing well heading into the postseason. BOS 107, MIL 101. Minnesota's seasons done. Think about it. If you were supposed to be a 1 or 2 seed in the West and failed to make the postseason would you show up for the last handful of games? Golden State wants to have a respectful record heading into the offseason and their heading in that direction. GSW 104, MIN 89. Finally, Memphis realizes they're stuck in that 8 slot and the Rockets are fighting to snatch that 5 seed away from Sactown. I see the Rockets wining 94-85. GLTA

Paul's Picks

Last Night: (0-1-1), Week: (3-3-1)

  • CHARLOTTE -4 over Atlanta
  • DETROIT -11 over Orlando
  • Boston -1 over MILWAUKEE
  • Golden State +4.5 over MINNESOTA
  • Memphis +3.5 over HOUSTON
  • Dallas -4 over SEATTLE

Charlotte has lost Brezec for the season, but should be able to put away the Hawks easily at home. Orlando has given up 100+ to 10 out of 11 opponents and against Detroit, that's bad news. Detroit in a rout. Boston finally got back on track last night against Philly and I expect a similar impressive performance tonight in Milwaukee. I agree with Ant-- take the Warriors with confidence. Minnesota is essentially playing for nothing so unless KG goes 40/20, Warriors should pull this one out. Memphis will bounce back after a lackluster performance against the Mavs to upend the Rockets in Houston. And finally, take the Mavs to pound the struggling Sonics-- I'm not sure this team could beat the Hawks the way they're playing. GL

I meant Memphis sorry. If my bleep of a boss wasn't down my throat to get work done, I wouldn't be screwing up. The nerve of these people...
