Wednesday's NBA Picks

May 18, 2005

Home Team in CAPS

Anthony's Picks:

Last Night: (1-1)

  • Dallas +6.5 over PHOENIX

I knew San Antone was gonna cover last night but once again my other personality takes over and forces me to made a bad pick. Tonight I have managed to fight off that bastard and provide you with the correct pick. Dallas has somewhat mastered the Suns' lethal pick n roll and did a nice job of containing Amare on Sunday Night. I see this game going back and forth until the wee hours of the morning with someone winning and someone losing. I'm not sure who, but I do know for sure Dallas will not get beat by more than 6.

Paul's Picks:

Last Night: (2-1)

  • PHOENIX -6.5 over Dallas

After witnessing the home teams take care of business last night, it's difficult to go against the Suns tonight. Though still without Joe Johnson, Phoenix should have an easier time controlling the tempo at home and I can't imagine Dallas contains Amare like they did in Game 4. Mike D'Antoni should do his best to get Jim Jackson involved early, that way Dallas can't continually roam a 5th defender to help out weakside on Amare. For Dallas, it's going to have to once again be collective effort on the offensive end. They've been at their best in the Playoffs when everyone chips in. On the other end, the Mavs will ride Dampier hard. In the two losses, Damp has been atrocious; in the two wins, he's practically been a savior. It's tough to pin any sort of hope on the big guy, but Dallas doesn't have much of a choice. SUNS 117, MAVERICKS 109
