Game 3 Finals Pick

Tuesday, June 14

Home Team in CAPS

Anthony's Pick:

Last Game: (W)

  • Ant had time to mention Phil Jackson's hiring, but not to make his pick. Dumbass.

Paul's Pick:

Last Game: (L)

  • San Antonio +4.5 over DETROIT

I've been riding the Pistons throughout the entire Playoffs when their backs have been up against the wall, but tonight I'm drawing the line. The Spurs have just looked too dominant for me to foresee a serious let-down tonight. It's become clear that the Pistons are going to need to limit two of the Spurs big three (Duncan, Ginobili, Parker) if they're going to win this game, because no matter what, they can't score 90+ points against San Antonio's defense. Someone has to light a fire under Ben Wallace's ass because it's gotten to the point that anything Big Ben can give you is pretty much a plus, and the Pistons won't make this a series unless everyone of their starters plays at a high level. Look for Detroit to come out looking like the Pistons that showed up in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals-- more poised, more confident, and more comfortable. But if they struggle early on, not only is this game finished, but the series will be as well. I like Detroit in a nail-biter with San Antonio covering. PISTONS 85, SPURS 84
