Thursday's NBA Pick

June 2, 2005

Home Team in CAPS

Anthony's Pick:

Last Night: Ooooops

  • Detroit +4.5 over MIAMI

They're World Champs for a reason...

Paul's Pick:

Last Night: (1-0)

  • MIAMI -4.5 over Detroit
  • OVER 183.5

Shaq won't get into foul trouble in Miami, even if Detroit keeps pushing the ball down in the post. Though the big fella is still hurting, look for Stan Van to go to him a lot early and try and free up some space for the Jones' to get in a rhythm outside. Dwyane Wade has to let the game come to him-- too often he forced shots and tried to create when nothing was there. The Heat are at their best in the halfcourt when they swing the ball around and let the Diesel get his hands on it. Wade needs to make things happen in the running game and if the Heat can get their offense in a flow, they should be able to score easily back at home. Detroit won't make things easy tonight, but with the way the series has been called, I think they're going to be at a disadvantage in that respect. If Shaq can hit 60% of his free throws, Miami should be able to grab a 3-2 lead. HEAT 100, PISTONS 94
