Staying in Seattle

On Tuesday morning, Ray Allen's agent, Lon Babby, reported that his client has agreed to terms to re-sign a five-year deal with the Seattle Supersonics. The contract is believed to be worth $80 million over five years with $5 million in performance bonuses. However, Allen cannot officially sign a contract until the league lifts its player movement moratorium, which is expected to be lifted on July 22, though there's a possibility it could be pushed back another week. Allen's desire to remain in Seattle will now force teams such as Atlanta, Cleveland and the Clippers to look elsewhere in the free agent market.
