SAR to NJ a Dead Deal

Stuck in Portland?

**UPDATE (7:01 PM)** Apparently the Nets already had a back-up plan lined up-- they acquired Marc Jackson and cash from the 76ers for future draft considerations. He's no 'Reef, but Jackson is an underrated back-to-the-basket player who can capably take advantage of all the open opportunities he's sure to get on the Nets. Thorn would be very smart to go out and pick-up a more defensive-minded big man now since Jackson is a total joke defensively-- Steven Hunter and Mikki Moore are a couple of names that come to mind. Not sure why Philly made this move. Obviously they're planning on using Dalembert for 35-40 minutes a night, but now they have absolutely no depth behind Webber and Sam. I'm guessing Billy King was pressured in to relieving some of the payroll.

As Paul reported earlier in the week, the long-rumored Shareef Abdur-Rahim deal to the Nets was in serious doubt. Well according to an NBA TV report today, the Nets have decided to pass on SAR and his bum knee and begin to look in other directions. We will provide you with more information as it comes to us.

i think billy king has something up his sleeve and needed to clear payroll to get a deal done

he said tonight he is targeting two players with the midlevel and the trade exception they got from NJ

i gotta believe they are gonna get steven hunter

i'm gonna miss mark, he gave his all to the team, he was very good offensively, but he had no athleticism, was a horrible rebounder and a horrible defender
