Saturday's Picks

What the hell?

November 19, 2005

Home Team in CAPS

Ant's Picks:

Last Night: (7-5); Week: (18-19); Season: (76-55)
  • PHILADELPHIA +2 over Cleveland
  • ORLANDO -7 over New Orleans/Oklahoma City
  • NEW JERSEY -4 over Washington
  • Charlotte +10.5 over MINNESOTA
  • DALLAS -2.5 over Detroit
  • SAN ANTONIO -10 over Phoenix
  • Memphis -7 over UTAH

--I like Cleveland tonight but when Paul's gotta lock going you can't go against him. PHI 104-99

--New Orleans is 0-2 this season in the latter half of a back-to-back. And in those two games they got absolutely smoked. Almost losing to Atlanta last night after being up double-digits for most of the night entices this pick even further. ORL 99-88

--Washington has been dreadful on this road trip and my theory that Arenas taking too many shots will eventually kill this team is starting to ring true. Expect VC to get the better of Gilbert tonight in a Nets' win. NJN 103-97

--Charlotte can cover 10+ against almost anyone nowadays. MIN 101-95

--This has to be Detroit's first loss of the season, right? The Mavs did it to San Antone and they'll do it again tonight. DAL 103-98

--Finley is due back for the champs and that should help that rather thin bench. Suns aren't that good right now and just played last night vs. Utah. Spurs in a romp. SAS 102-88.

--Utah played PHX tough last night, but don't let that fool you. They are a bad team w/o AK-47 and that should show tonight. MEM 102-87

GOOD LUCK

Paul's Picks:

Last Night: (7-5); Week: (24-13); Season: (68-63)
  • PHILADELPHIA +2 over Cleveland - *LOCK*
  • ORLANDO -7 over New Orleans/Oklahoma City
  • NEW JERSEY -4 over Washington
  • Charlotte +10.5 over MINNESOTA
  • Detroit +2.5 over DALLAS
  • SAN ANTONIO -10 over Phoenix
  • Memphis -7 over UTAH

--Get this-- the last time the Cavaliers beat a a +.500 team on the road...December 2nd, 2004 against the 8-6 Denver Nuggets. Wow. PHI 102-97

--NO/OKC has failed to cover in either of the second legs of their back-to-backs, but might be better prepared tonight if Speedy Claxton (ankle), P.J. Brown (funeral), and J.R. Smith (knee) suit up. I'm taking the Magic for now assuming these guys are out, but check be later to see if their statuses have changed. ORL 88-80

--Washington has looked shotty on defense the last two times out, allowing LeBron James and KG to destroy them. J-Kidd, Vinsanity, and RJ should have their way at Continental tonight. NJ 106-99

--Can Minnesota win consecutive games at home by double-digits for the second time this season, something they didn't accomplish once last season? Nah. MIN 100-91

--Go ahead, take Dallas. I dare you. DET 98-94

--Much like last season (33-19 at home ATS), take the Spurs every game they play at SBC. SAN 104-92

--The Grizz beat the Jazz by double-digits in all three of their meetings last season and this squad Sloan is throwing out there right now isn't any better that last year's version. MEM 100-85

Yeah, so wrong about it that the Cavs covered by a whole point! And if they called that ridiculous LeBron travel late in the game, Sixers win. God, we're idiots!

You were both off by 8. That isn't right.
