Thursday's Picks

This certainly won't be helping the Lakers tonight

December 1, 2005

Home Team in CAPS

Ant's Picks:

Last Night: (4-7); Week: (9-14); Season: (116-98)

  • San Antonio -2.5 over DALLAS
  • UTAH -2.5 over Lakers

My picks have sucked ass lately, sorry guys. I've definately strayed away from the mentality I used in the beginning of the year. Let's try and get back to those winning ways starting tonight.

--Spurs won't lose to the same team in the same arena twice. It's just not going to happen. And with Josh Howard still questionable with an ankle sprained, Manu should have his way tonight. SAS 98-90

--I'm just taking the better team here. With Kobe shooting 40+ shots seemingly every night, his popularity on this squad has to be wearing thin. I like this up-and-coming Jazz team and look for them to rebound from their embaressing performance two nights ago. UTH 97-89.

Good Luck

Paul's Picks:

Last Night: (7-4); Week: (15-8); Season: (113-101)

  • San Antonio -2.5 over DALLAS - *Manu Ginobili Questionable*
  • Lakers +3 over UTAH

--This is a bigger game for the Spurs as they don't want to give the Mavs a 2-0 edge in the season series. With Josh Howard sidelined, I think the stars are aligned for the Spurs to get a little revenge after that 103-84 thrashing in Dallas almost a month ago. SAN 99-96

--This Lakers/Jazz line might be one of the stranger ones I've seen all season. Utah should be favored by at least 5. I don't care that they got hammered by Indiana at the Delta Center two nights ago-- this team should be primed to rebound from that ugly loss. There's no reason to believe the Lakers are going to win, but I'm taking them anyways thanks to this shady-ass line. LAL 97-95

i'm surprised both of you went with the spurs tonight. frankly, the line seemed really weird to me. dallas routed the spurs last time and also routed the pistons. meanwhile, the spurs are losing to the bulls at home, repeatedly blowing 4th quarter leads, and struggling to beat an atrocious laker team. i know howard's out, but there's a good chance ginobili will also be out. the spurs have been really bad ATS this season, and i don't understand why they're even the favorites in this game.
