Readers' Top 10

Well congratulations everyone, I think we may have broken the record for most comments on one article. Which got me thinking, since the readers have so much to say, why don't you all sit down and come up with your own top 10 list (top 30 would take too long). Then on Monday I'll post the results and we can compare it to mine. Think of this as a homework assignment for All-Star Weekend. Thanks guys

my picks-
1. Lebron
2. Kobe
3. Howard
4. Wade
5. Bosh
6. CP3
7. TMac
8. KG
9. Amare
10. Duncan

btw, great list ant. The only pick i disagree with is carmelo. The guy is just a better looking version of glen robinson. He's slow, he's lazy and he's one-dimensional. Carmelo is still a really good player who can carry a team with his scoring (for limited stretches!), but the most I would put him is in the 20-25 range.

keep up the great work!

Strictly thinking as a GM, assuming i´d be able to sign any guy for a long contract, and taking in consideration how many years they´ve left in the tank, the chances i´d get to win a championship with each of them, and that sort of thing, this is my list:

10. C. Anthony (can lead his team, has had some "personality" issues)
9. C. Paul (can definitly lead a team... i can´t wait to see him in the playoffs)
8. Kobe (sorry, but the "me first, me second and me third" can get you to the playoffs... there´s no way it gets you a ring)
7. Garnett (best all around player, lacks that "I´ll lead this team to a championship" attitude)
6. Duncan (yup, he´s 29, but has 3 rings and is the leader of one of the most solid TEAMS in the league)
5. Bosh (should be number 4, since he leads pretty well a horrible team... i just feel Howard is gonna be a better player in the long run)
4. Howard (but if he doesn´t start earning the Magic some Ws, i won´t care if he´s on his own...)
3. Amare (yeah, I know i should better wait for him to come back)
2. Wade (well, he plays with Shaq, but the guy is as good a player as any, and has an incredible winning mentality)
1. LBJ

1. Lebron

3. Kobe
4. Amare
5. Wade
6. Nowitzki
7. Garnett
8. Paul
9. Duncan
10. Bosh

1- duh
2- A guy that young leading the lead in rebounds? And his Offensive game in no doubt will progress to make him someone to remember
3- Kobe still has his best basketball ahead of him at 27. If you pick up a solid big man in the 2nd round, oh man.
4- Amare might be a bit high considering his knee injury, but from what I've heard it's not as bad as what's happened to Penny, or Mashburn. If that's the case, how can you pass his guy up?
5- Wade, even though I don't like him that much myself, I MUST admit he has game. And enough game to carry a team to at least the playoffs by himself.
6- Nowitzki can do it all. He can handle, shoot, rebound, and occasionally block the rock. Being a little younger than TD and KG and having the ability to spread the floor is invaluable.
7- The reason I have Garnett higher instead of TD is because in my opinion, I think Garnett is far more durable than TD and will have at least 2 more spectacular years than Duncan.
8- I'm sure glad I picked this guy in the 11 round in my fantasy draft. Aside from the matter of whether he's injury prone, this kid is a natural born leader. Don't be suprised if he ends his career as one of the top 5 leaders in triple-doubles, I won't.
9- The big fundamental may be getting a little over the hill, but if you played this draft right and got quality players around him, who's to say he won't win the championship the same season this draft took place?
10- For this last pick for me, it was either Bosh or McGrady. I picked Bosh because he's not only younger, but because he's a big man that has developed so fast. Who's to say he was develope even more? But I decided to place him lower on the list because he pretty much plays in a crap team, which I my opinion inflated his stats. Not to say he won't do as well in a good team, it's just that we aren't sure......

as a huge fan of the site, i gotta give it up ant. great article. probably one of the best. along with the nba players in the nfl or top 30 reasons to get excited about this season, i thoroughly enjoyed it. the article gave me hours of great reading, as well as great discussion topics amongst coworkers and friends. as it would take me probably an entire month to calculate my top 30, i will throw down my top 10.

10. eb(even tho i hate this fool)
9. c.paul
8. kg
7. duncan
6. tmac(if he's motivated)
5. bosh
4. wade
3. dwight
2. amare
1. lebron

again ant, great work, and i hope to see another great article like this by spring time.

I don't know if you covered this in the rules, but I'm taking it a step further and including players not yet in the NBA.

1. LeBron (obvious)
2. Dwight Howard (read Ant's description)
3. Wade (He has "it", hard to describe)
4. Amare (Wild card... how good is he after the surgery? Once Nash is gone?)
5. KG (The one and only. He's slowing down, now he merely operates at light speed)
6. Bosh (Watching him feels like watching KG at times)
7. OJ Mayo (Future superstar)
8. Chris Paul (Furute superstar)
9. Yao Ming (Center position is thin, he could still develop into a dominant force)
10. Dirk (young enough and talented enough. but will he ever get over that hump?)
